Cattle History

This video was part of a project called Calfskin exhibited at Telematic in San Francisco. Calfskin included this video and several video sculptures, and is a rumination on Telematic gallery’s location which was once Stompers Boots, a staple of the SOMA leather community. This work queers the species divide and reflects on the history of subjugation and abjection that animals, queer humans, and human-animal hybrids have shared.

Karen (excerpt)

This narrative/experimental short is based on the Junk Lady, a peripheral character in Jim Henson's seminal 1989 film, Labyrinth.

Karen was made during my time at the Recology Artist in Residence program in San Francisco, California. All the puppets, sets, and costumes were made from thrown away toys, fabric, appliances, and other objects scavenged from the public disposal and recycling area at Recology.

The full video can be seen here.

Precious Flamingo (installation view)

Includes digital videos, oil painting, and brochures which direct viewers to a narrative podcast called Precious Flamingo. Precious Flamingo follows a hapless tour guide who accidentally goes into an alternate dimension populated by talking animals. The story centers on a flamingo dentist who is being persecuted by a maniacal parrot cult-leader. Other characters include a koala scientist, a pelican store keeper, and a riddling bear.
